Food and Sustainability

Hello bloggers! Today's topic is food and sustainability about it I would like to talk about an interesting video "7 food forests in 7 minutes with Geoff Lawton" about permaculture.
Geoff Lawton shows how the design of sustainable systems can improve the soil conditions for agriculture.
He analized his system in 7 different stages of growth and different seasons, showing the changes in the ecosystem like presence of nodules in the soil added to the plant's roots, diameter of canopys over the time, etc..

In my personal opinion I think this is a system based on people's concern about future wich is a really nice sign, because permaculture is a solution for resources shortage, and also a solution for remains control.
In Chile, we have a lot to work on it, because we don't have the tools as society to make a sustainable country. Everyone should be educated on this matter at school and that way we could have a brilliant future in the hands of the future society.
So, come on! be inspired and search about it to be able to help with a grain of sand to our future.

Post 1: A country I'd like to visit

Hello bloggers! Today I would like to talk to you about another country that I'd like to visit, Holland.
I think this country its really beautiful, with an unique culture and it had a great diversity of natural attractions beside the famous flowers.
I would really like to taste some of their foods like a Stroopwafel wich its a traditional cookie of Holland or some Snert wich its something like a soup. I also liked to known the flower fields and maybe work in some of them. The flower festival had catch my attention since I knew it exist. The flowerist made really big figures with nothing but flowers and they show them to the crowd in a parade from Noordwiik to Haarlem (42 km).
I would like to know Amsterdam and visit some Chilean friends that I met on summer how live there. I would like to go all over this city on a bike, walk over the beautiful bridges and go though the canals in boat.

Finally I want to add that I really loved Holland’s culture and I hope to know this country soon…

A country I'd like to visit

Hello everyone! today's topic is travels. Since I was a child I dreamed about visiting differents countrys all over the world and actually until today I dreamed about visit Morocco, there's something about the sand, the culture and their food that makes me enthusiastic about knowing it. I would like to visit saidia's beach, also to visit the Sahara desert, and finally visit the city of Marrakech, wich is the biggest touristic city of Morocco, in there you can visit the Majorelle garden, the 170 Saadíes graves, Alaminar of koutoubia (praying place) and Zocos of Marrakech (street market).

I also must said that i'm interested in this country in only a tourist way, i would't like to live or work in there because of their sexist culture and my vision of today's women.
If I had to lived in another country I would prefer New Zealand, because I think it's a great country in every posible ways.
Finally I would like to say that travelling today it's so much easy than 20 years ago, because there are more posibilities for pay that trips and also there's a lot more information and conection between countrys all over the world.

My favorite film

Today's topic is films, I really love to watch a lot of them. I specially like the comedy films, romantic and drama films, and sometimes animated ones too. My favourite actors are Robert Downey Junior from drama/action movies, Jack Nicholson and Leonardo Di Caprio from the classic films and Michael Cera from the newest films. My favourite actress are Keira Knightley in romantic movies, Kathy Bates and Meryl Streep in classic comedies and romance films.
If you ask me if I have a favourite director, I really can't say I do because there are so many good ones now that it's difficult choose one, but I always like the classic ones as Quentin Tarantino with Kill Bill (vol. 1 and vol. 2) and Django, or Tim Burton with movies like Edward Scissorhands or Big Fish, what I like about this director is that in all of their films they left their signature and it makes them uniques in the film industry.
Another difficult question is "What's my favourite movie?" because I loved a lot of films, but If I have to pick only one, I choose Pride and Prejudice based on the novel by Jane Austen, I don't know why, but I could see that film a hundred of times and everytime I'll find something else to love about it, from the clothes, to the story and the landscape that it's very beautiful. I also like the actors and actress that work in that movie, they've made a really good job performing the characters.

Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. Pride and Prejudice.

"If people really wanted ethically produced products, they would already be buying them"

Today’s society is worry about the composition, origin and manufacture of food, however the time is money, so it’s not a priority because this products are expensive and hard to find also a few of them are really what they appear to be, like organics, ethically produced, innocuous, etc…
I think it should be a governmental issue to promote consume of innocuous and ethically produced products, because it’s something good for society’s health, they should protect us, having laws to control the big companies and check outs of the products such as vegetables.

In the case of vegetables in Chili there is not precaution about control of pesticides, fertilizer, etc… that affects directly in humans health. In the other hand fruits are mostly very innocuous products because it’s a business focus on exportation, staying in Chili the “worst products” which means the fruit that doesn’t have the necessary requirement of color, size, shape between others.

My favorite photograph

Hello everyone! Today I would like to show you one of my favorites photographs, I choose it because it was took in a special moment of my life where I was trying to refound myself and this place was so magic that I really reconect myself with nature, my sister and happiness.

Tantauco's park, Chiloé island.
The photograph was taken in Tantauco's park ubicated in Chiloé's island (nearly to Quellón), this summer (2014) and it was took by my sister.
She and I have an amazing trip doing a really hard and difficult trekking of 54 kilometers; we end it with a lot of wounds (injurys), really tired and wet because of three days of rain, but still we felt happy and proud of ourselfs.
If you ask me "Why I love this picture?" I can tell that the answer its easy for me.. because that photograph shows one of the biggest adventure that I had in my and also the beauty of the landscape, the colors, the wood and of course the always green forest.
I hope you'll enjoy this picture as much as I do!
See you readers!

Yann Arthus-Bertrand: A wide-angle view of fragile Earth

The topic of the video "A wide-angle view of fragile Earth", by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, was about human relationship with the earth in every possible ways, I mean, the french expositor didn't used the typical ecological approach because he combined it with peoples relationships at each other.
Across the presentation, Yann Arthus-Bertrand gave some alarming numbers related to important consecuences of global warming, like the amount of CO2 emitted by a simple plane flight (9 tonnes), and insterest fact like 100 percent of the coral in Coral reef in Caledonia, may be wiped out before 2050 affecting sea biodiversity. He also shows pictures about the consecuences of global warming in mountains wich have loose over an 80 percent of it ice, and how in north pole the thickness of the artic decreased more than 40 percent since 1960.

"One fifth of human kind depend on fish to live" said the french guy, and then included "Today now 70% of the fish stock are over-exploited", this last sentence can be traduce it in that the sea resouces will be gone in 2050.
In my opinion this is a very dificult and alarming situation, because as Yann Arthus-Bertrand said "We don't want to believe what we know about polution", so if the agents of world warming (ourselfs) don't want to accept a change in out life and let rest the earth, we are condemn our own lifes and future humanity.
